On the left-hand side you can see the coat of arms of the Count of Bregenz, and on the right-hand side the one of the Count of Montfort, which became Vorarlberg's cout of arms. The archway features a mummified shark, a fetish that is supposed to keep away evil from the city - a mission that has not always been successful.
